Woodworking is done. Had to wait 2 hours for the decision of how many vertical rails she wanted.

It's got primer, been scuff sanded and has been caulked up.

Gonna put one more coat of primer on it. Not sure when I'll put the topcoats on. I might do one on Sunday and the final on Monday morning so it has a good period of dry time.

Weekend project. Instructions say 3 hours. Took us 2 days basically. Replacement tube spiral slide at my kids’ school’s playground. Ground was so wet. Water was like 6” below grade. So digging the footings and getting them set right sucked. Putting the pieces together sucked as well. That plastic does not keep its shape. There goes another weekend.

Also, first time mixing concrete right in the holes. Had too with so much water.

Done. Finally.

Painting was a PITA. Forced me to do it in sections. I hate that.

Slow going. Fitting the 2nd nosing and gluing it up. The damn things get clamped into place to follow a specific projection off the riser so I have to epoxy the miter and let it set for the night so I can clamp it the next day and screw it off. Kinda pain in the butt working with the old framing which is really f’ed. Slows it down, but still quicker than reframing the whole thing.

Really..... SOMEONE. Wonder who that was.

Hope you have better luck than I did.

Got the hood installed today. Put up a cleat with plywood on the front of it forming a stop and slid the hood up and over into it. Small bump in the wall so we ended up scribing a small length in the curved section, about 1 foot long. Maybe a 1/16" at the deepest. Made a big difference. Put the hood back up, knocked it into place and put the screws, plastic holds and the stainless steel strips that hide the screws. Added a screw into the hood that was being held by the cleat. Didn't need it but certainly can't hurt.

I think it took just as long if not longer to put the screws and SS strips on as it did to scribe and hang the hood. :w00t:

It sure did.

They've dealt with this look for quite some time. It was to be the last project in the house for this year.
