I house I finished up doing the soffit and fascia on yesterday. Both roof have shingles on them , which is a little flat for my taste, they did ice and water the whole thing though. Really don't care for the 1' fascia which I have to end up making.

Hey Leo,

In the last “Post A Picture” thread, you were describing the knife holder (post #11292) and that you thinned the CV to apply with a rag. What’s the formula – how much did you cut it?

I’ve got a situation where I want to coat something (mostly for color) simply with a rag – spraying would be a nightmare.

Are you going to answer my question in post #8 or do I have to just figure it out on my own? You’re making it difficult for me to steal your stuff!
Well I just make this stuff up as I go along. This "finish" I had used on the cutting board was left over from when I cleaned out my AAA pump. So it was probably about 8oz finish and 20 oz thinner. Cut pretty hard. I could put several coats on in a row because it flashed off so quick. And then I'd wait for it to do a good dry, about 30 minutes and I put on one last coat after I scuffed it with 320.

I'll bet 50-50 with a retarder would work just as well for ragging it on.

Custom closet that is been a fight since the start. Build a few things to the wrong dimensions and then my painter had some family stuff come up the delayed things again. Either way they are finally done and the client is happy with it.

They asked on the install day if we could change the shelves above the drawers from fixed height to adjustable so I will have to make a trip back the reinstall them.

We've been in our current home for three years. My wife has been unhappy with the granite tops in our kitchen. I told her that if she really hated them that much then we would design the kitchen in the basement in a way that we could move the tops downstairs. The white kitchen is upstairs and the brown kitchen is downstairs. We took part of the counter from upstairs and installed it downstairs so that we could finish the installation of the downstairs kitchen. I will post more pictures after both kitchens are completed.

I've got a few more things to finish on the basement kitchen, but it's 98% done. The countertop installers were impressed that we were able to move the granite top downstairs without breaking it. The wife is happy with both kitchens.

BTW: The appliances in the basement are the ones that I got at Sears for $2200.00.

Nice stuff there Leo:thumbsup:

In the last picture, what are the vertical dividers intended for?
She intends to put glass pot-ware in there. She use to keep them stacked in a drawer which drove her crazy because what she needed was always at the bottom. So now one or two items will slip into the little partition areas and she can just pull out which one she needs without going through the hassle of unstacking them.

I think that whole cabinet is for different kinds of pots and pans to be stored in. Mostly stuff used infrequently.

And that's what I told him. It was left over finish I had cleaned out of my AAA pump. Just ragged it on with a paper towel.
