Doing a reside of sorts for a client. Pulling all the aluminum siding down, securing the foam board with cap nails, taping the seams, new layer of tyvek. Managed to get a couple rows back up today, perfect weather for this project. Bonus was fitting it in while my other project is getting spackled

At some point, someone did a patch and used lots of duct tape as their replacement foil barrier...

I understand we're just talking about a flat, side of a house here, but you crushed this. That looks so, so much better than what was there. They must be thrilled.
They are very happy that it is taken care of. They are awesome clients, remodeled basically half their house last year.

He had reached out to a couple siding contractors and none of them wanted to touch it. Called me up "hey, I know this isn't your usually job, but can you do it so I know it will be done right?"
"Sure can. Here's your best case/ worst case price range"

Including set up and break down, 21 man hours between me and my helper

I can tell you're an honest man.
My hours for two people would always end in an even number, and almost certainly be evenly divisible by 8.

We get a crane and have him lift one at a time. It goes quick.

We have one guy rigging and two on the plates.

Cranes are too much money here to lift one by one... If we use a crane they go in a bunch.

Trusses.

So bloody easy with a lift. Me and one guy. 32 footers. [emoji106]

We can set our duplexes in 3 hours with crane. Same number of guys goes to around 4-4.5 via the lift. I'd save money setting with the lift, but it's so much safer and easier on the guys with crane.

We do all peripheral work with the lift, girders, etc.

I don’t mind them Setting bundles on some thing small, like a 20’ single story garage.

When they get into the 30 and 40 foot range, I make them set them one by one.

Anything over 8 or 9 feet too

Eaves are 16’ above grade on this one. Crane plus lift. 👍👍
