Simple gable roof with setback garage

HI Guys,

I am framing a simple gable roof with a garage set back 6' so a gable roof runs into a gable wall. The house will have Plywood siding and I can't figure out how to do the siding round the roof on the garage. Do I notch the plywood around the overhang or install the siding first and then roof framing on top of that. This seems wrong but have checked a few houses around and that's how they did it. The part above the roof I would install afterwards so I can get my step flashing behind the siding. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks for the replies. It is new with T1-11 siding. If I notch around the framing I'll have to block around the notch. I think I will stand an 8' and then shim the framing. The parts above the roof I'll wait until I roof it so I can flash correctly. Just hope I never have to replace the siding.

Thanks for the replies. No need for a local carpenter or the condescending response. While i'm sure my experience is far short of yours this is not the first house I have framed. Just the first time I have run into this particular situation. Thanks again for everyone who tried to help.
