Good afternoon
Has anyone tested/installed this device yet?

Seems to be from outside, Spanish

Hi Ferran
we have been manufacturing this device since the end of 2019 and is very reliable; if you have children at home and they spend ages in the shower, it is probably one of the best devices to prevent them from keeping this beahviour;
it is very easy to install and to program
A very important function it has is a water leak sensor, just in case you children miss shutting the tap properly
About the payback period, it basically depends on the amount of children you have and the time they spend in the bath tub; Usually, with two kids, an Acqua Tempus is paid back in about 4 months considering it needs no plumbing or electrical jobs.
If you need any further info, you can check our website Shower timer shut off - Arelia - Save water - Shower head timer

kind regards,

and last but not leat, another benefit from this shower timer with cut off is that it ensures the availability of hot water for all family members;
let's say you have a 180 L water tank, and one of your children stays in the bath tub for 20 minutes; that means he will probably run down the water tank and the rest of family will have to shower with cold water; with Acqua Tempus, this problem is over: 6 minute shower and off he goes.

enough for today

Your example uses 12 LPM, which equals 3.17 GPM.

Shower heads in the US have been limited to 2.5 GPM for the last 30 years. WaterSense is 2.0 GPM or less. Many are 1.5 GPM or less.

One could put on a cheap $20 shower head or even a high end $200 shower head with a 1.5 gpm flow and still come out ahead of your calculations.

thanks for this info , regarding your comment I must say this function reducing the water flow is already included in the Acqua Tempus : it has a pipe inside which is smaller than the usual shower hoses and therefore the water flow is reduced by about 15% comparing it with a normal shower. In fact , some customers in some way complain when it is just installed saying that the water flow is too low; after a while, they get used to showering with this low flow.

In addition to this: in your last post, you are not considering a very important factor: TIME , which is very well controlled by this and other shower timers. In fact, they are called shower timers cause they control TIME.

kind regards,

;)

I wonder how long it would take the average teenager to figure out they can bypass this device in 30 seconds or less. As the video shows, no tools required.
I know my kid would have figured that out before I was done installing it :LOL:
hi there, thanks for this comment: Acqua Tempus brings in the box a security seal to block the hose connected to the tap; once it is sealed as in the picture, if someone wants to bust it, will need a hammer and a screw driver; if the teenager does get to beat it, then we have a stronger security seal , which must be blocked with a keylock; this is not included in the original pack, it is an extra that must be paid in addition; The thing is that in 2 years of Acqua Tempus being sold, we have never been asked for this extra security seal.

anyway, thanks for your objection, I hope this makes it a bit clearer
have a nice week end ;)

Hey, I've got a better idea. How about saving money on the TIMER in addition to the water savings?
And if you're the kind of cruel parent who likes to aggravate his children, you can turn the water off while they are showering, from your phone. All that for $39.99 and free shipping:

I think the problem is you are preaching to the wrong audience.

We don't want to or care about living like some European dystopian world where we time ourselves taking a shower.

Most of us have plenty of water. In fact most of us take the restrictors out of our fixtures.
