This company wants a lot of renovations, but I'm far to busy at this point to take on any more work. He says he would like for me to pull the permits and be a construction manager. Not sure if the risk is worth the reward. He said he has a crew that's has workers comp.

I guess if they list me on their certificate of liability from their general liability insurance, I would be ok. I just really haven't done to much of that. I was wondering if anyone has had a bad experience doing it this way.

Seems like this person needs what we call a primary qualifying agent. We in florida who are said persons have to be responsible for all financial matters on the job. I'd check and see if their is a way to elect a financial responsible officer. Do you want to own a percentage of the corporation or just be an employee. Check with your governing entity for licenses. I'd still not do it for free or for little.

I always pull permits for the whole job, but licensed trades like electricians and plumbers must fill out their own sheet with their license and put their seal, but everything under one permit.
