For cabinet doors and any other finishes requiring a glass finish, I spray with sherwin Williams pro classic. A water based alkyd enamel.
What I found for me that tickles Proclassic best is 15oz flortol, 10-12oz water per gallon and letting that gallon of paint sit in a shallow bucket of hot water while actively using it. I actually let faucet trickle, recirculating the heat.
The warmth seems to helps the viscosity and self leveling characteristics dramatically. Before, with my hvlp, pin head bubbles would linger and some wouldn't always pop. After warming, they burst and release almost on contact.
Any other tips? I would love to hear what other pros have to say.
