Nope. HD stuff isn't the same. It's garbage. Hem fir and .15.

Stuff I get from a real Lumber yard is Doug Fir and .40 acq

.15 MCA vs .40 ACQ I believe is actually comparable. Not arguing that anything at HD is garbage though!

I'd be okay with that but I'm not a big fan of hem Fir. Just look at it wrong and it goes south. Out here anyway.

PT around here is SYP. The stuff the Depot carries is usually No1 treated with pro wood MCA for ground contact. If it's still sitting in proper stacks and not all knocked over it tends to be good stuff. The non PT lumber they carry tends to be garbage.

We used to get hemfir. Looked great when installed, but soon started to crack and split.

I've had entire fence line 4x4s twist nearly 180 degrees and pull the fence apart.

Then I have some 4x6 posts at my house that look as good as the day I installed it. No consistency.

Now the yard gets incredible Doug Fir PT. Straight and clean, hardly a check or wain to be found. Sometimes it's so nice I hate to cover it up.

Sure makes working with it enjoyable.

I got a phone call this morning hoping I could come bail a guy out and detail as much of this roof as possible. 400sq new construction, TPO.

Turns out I am waiting on some metal parts that got left off of my order....again.....so I have time to kill.

There is another identical building in progress 50' away from this one.....I'd like to land that one for this guy if i can. The crew he hired said they can handle the job.....they are quite far behind and i dont think they have what it takes.

Fingers crossed

I'm gonna feel like a kid in a candy store doing some welding for a few days

Finished up the kitchen on this reno I was working on before Christmas. Supplier delays (and errors) kept us from finishing it on time.
Had to rebuild a couple of the boxes and build a wine rack to make up for a design error.
I don't think I'll be doing the backsplash, so I'm pretty much done with it.

So the triple cabinet above the DW was too short?

No, well, yes.....
They had accounted for another 13 " wide cabinet off of the other side of the window attached to the corner cabinet.
They completely disregarded the site measurements and sent what they designed.

What beam? You mean there's a beam there?

False beam detail. The old wall plates are still in the ceiling. Used to be a non bearing wall there separating the kitchen from the dining area.

Then I've got no excuse to give you

Came out nice.

My boys did this whole job by themselves as far as the build. I did most of the layout. I'm going to hang up the bags (except layout) for a lot of these jobs I think.
