Spent the last week working on this built in/fireplace remodel.

Before we started, the homeowner got a very rare concession out of me and I knocked my price down four hundred bucks. It was probably a little overbid anyway, and I really wanted the project.

When we finished today, the guy pays me, hands me the biggest bottle of Larceny bourbon I've ever seen, then tries to give me four hundred extra bucks. He says "this looks awesome, don't ever discount your work again."

I thanked him for the work, put the four hundred back on the counter, grabbed the Larceny, and headed off to the next job. Damn good day overall.

Got the exteriors finished, whole house and garage is standing now. Started back inside on the double wall and interior layout today. Sucks to layout the staggered studs but I'm geeking hard on the building science so it's an incredibly fun build.

Also got power hooked up today so that's a nice change!

Kids play house is done, just need to get a handle set for the door to replace the old one. They want to add some shelfs, the oldest one will help me. Lol. I might build a small deck on it with scraps after deck season this year. Them concrete steps came off a rental and fit well

Pit is in my ******* kitchen, added onto the stack and moved damper. Setting appliances tomorrow

Passive house coming along. Down my journeyman all this past week so basically me framing and teaching the 18 and 19 year old apprentices all by myself, but we had a good time. Exteriors wrapped with 1 window to punch in still, double wall all in, basement prepped, technoposts drilled in for all the decks, and started interiors. I liked this little 45° window detail for the kitchen sink so I threw that picture in too.

And yes, that is a coat as my flag. The guy who took the week off kept sending me pictures of skiing so... payback was required lol.

Well, wrapped up the site today at noon, and had a bit of a pizza lunch with the boys. Best we could manage for a Christmas party lol. Got the whole house and garage ready for trusses, laid out, backing in. Got started on the front deck, our trusses will carry through for a covered front section. Site was completely cleaned, tarped and delineated so we can find it if it snows.

Wind was howling and snow was flying, any of you southern deck guys want to come up and lend a hand [emoji6][emoji23]

Ready for a break that's for sure [emoji106]

Could have used an HK-XS on that tiny door.

How many people said they didn't scuff that finish?
