1st time I really had major issues. 1 or 2 holes bunged up is one thing, The cup pulls had 3 holes that were good, the rest gave me minor to major issues. Probably getting taps for both now. That was F'n ridiculous. At least the knobs holes were fine. Well after I sanded off all the tits that wouldn't sink into maple.

I've done it. Looks better on a slab drawer front. The designer wanted them centered so that's what they got.

If you are using linear pulls you can put them on the top rail of the drawer and it looks good too.

Did the push to finish the kitchen 2 Fridays ago. The next Monday we packed up the trailer and moved all the cabinets, panels and such from my shop to RI. It's a raised ranch so everything went up 2 short flights of stairs.

Tues-Friday and the next Monday 2 of us did the install. Tuesday and Wednesday I was by myself to finish up. Yesterday was a long day. Drilled the holes in the uppers for the knobs after making the jig, installed them of course. Fit the toekicks and used a biscuit jointer to align them to the cabinets/doors. Looked around for my toekick skins for 1/2 hour before calling my landlord for him to look in my shop to find out there were still there. Put the panel on the rear of the island, finished cutting the hole for the toekick heater which I wasn't told about 😠. Screwed the spacers that keep the sink in place so it would never move. Put in all the shelves. And then the final clean up and moving tools back out to the truck. Cleanup took about 2 hours including vacuuming the floors and insides of the cabinets and drawers. F'n electricians are pigs, never clean up after themselves - why is that? Measured the refrigerator and DW for panels. And the final good will act of the day I installed the MW into the island so she had something working in the kitchen besides cabinets. Put some wood spacers behind it to keep it front and center.

And of course the 1 1/2 hour drive home.

So today I didn't set the alarm, got up around 8:10. Went to the bank and then to the shop. Cleaned up my pig sty a bit, took out some barrels and dumped them into the mulch piles. Worked on the computer to determine the measurements for the refer panel. Compared them to the sizes in the manual and they worked out pretty close. Physical vs in the manual measurements, I never trust them.

Took a nap for 3/4 hour 😴 --- Just because I felt like it.

Made the parts lists, picked out the maple and milled it to size. Ran it through the shapers for Shaker style. Put them together to measure for panels and they matched the paperwork.

Was about 5:30 by then and I went across the parking lot to see what Mike was up to. Had a couple shots with him and chatted for a while.

Pretty easy day after a hard install. Needed it.

Knife holder with a pull down set of hinges that will be hung on the underside of an upper cabinet.

Got everything sprayed, white on the outside and clear on the inside. The magnet holders were sprayed with clear also. Put them in their place and ran screws through the magnets holding everything down.
Image

Got some self stick black felt, cut it to size and stuck it over the magnets. One to hide them and two to protect the knives.

Attached the swing down hinges and put the sides in place. Spent some time making a jig to drill the holes in the underside of the cabinet. All the holes are blind when the magnet shelf is in place, the jig will make it much easier.

Fabricated and finished the pieces last week and Monday. Started the install yesterday. I had a design meeting all day today. Zach and Nick finished it about 3 today.

Taught them how to make a drywall shim template for large panel. The top and bottom piece, and the large panel are multiple pieces. Taught Zach how to use a Monument vacuum seamer.

All of the corners are grain matched and lock mitered.

The vent grill will be sparyed balck by the builder.

Sunroom we are just finishing up. Lucked out and ordered everything late August before pricing went truly crazy. Flooring is Azek slate grey T & G to match the decking on the steps next to it. Ripped off the old rotted one and replaced, dropped it down 1 step to get taller ceiling. Electrical all got routed out of the top of the 2x6 t & g ceiling on top and rubber went down with no mechanical fasteners. Lost about a month waiting on the damn windows, thanks Harvey for selling to Lansing.

Fir and pine where the same price for the rafters and roof sheathing, I didn't quite get that.
