Woodworking....

Had to bend 40 pcs of plexiglass into a shape that would hold pictures and hang over a 1/2" plywood edge.

And then sand all the sharp edges......

I dig it quick and easy and I'm sure they are ecstatic

How do yall vent that being so low? Or is the humidity low there? Honest question, here the humidity is so high we have to vent
He have virtually zero humidity here. Very dry also the framing is about 1.5" above the ground.

I will say if that was wood decking there's no way I'd do that.

Figured. I see some decks in Arizona like that and they seem to have no problems. My buddy built a 5mm home in Vegas and several of their decks are setting in the ground and 10 years later no problems

I don't offer wood decking any longer. Too hard a climate for green growth they cut down in SA

Tile guy inched it. Instead of recutting to the right size, he left it over the boot. Fooker.

Luckily, I had the grinder with me for coping baseboard. It's not pretty, but good enough for under a vent flange.

He also didn't adjust the valve or spout depth before tiling the showers, broke a stem for one of the shower handles, and lost parts for the diverter stem.

I was able to track down and order parts. Supply houses don't carry much for Sigma Faucets.

Found escutcheons at Ace that I was able to make work with clear silicone. Put new foam rubber gaskets on the back of the valve cover plates from 7 to 5.

Old counter profile notch in casing.

I used a square edge putty knife to bring the profile line down to the tape before I started and cut it away so it wouldn't be stuck underneath.

Two part wood filler.

Solvent based plasti-wood.

Shellac primer to see what I'm working with.

Spackle, prime, paint.

Built out from course to smoothest, shaping and sanding as I went.

Not sure if this should go here or wall of shame.

Swapping out a widespread faucet for my sister. Noticed one of the old handles wasn't sitting flush. Turns out the handle hole is too close to the sink lip for the washer and nut.

Literal hack job. But I got it done and better than it was before.

Also figured out why her PTAC wasn't working. Before and after cleaning.

Short while ago I made 40 of these bent plexiglass picture holders.

I finished up the Newspaper Organizer board couple days ago. It was a color match nightmare but I got it close enough for me, he loved it.

Everything was calculated pretty well. I had to take 1/8" off the corner lower support because the wall was out a bit and the corner didn't line up perfect. And the wall with the AC had a pretty significant outward bow in it below the left of the AC which made the outside corner stick out some. Had to put in a pocket screw to hold everything tight.

All minor installation adjustments.

I have to order some numbers that will indicate the pages of the newspaper. Black background with gold numbering.

Made the cabinet for the Newspaper room. Poplar top that I wire brushed with an angle grinder and then stained. Matching door panels that weren't wire brushed but ground with a 60 grit belt and the stiles/rails matching the newspaper organization board.

Mostly everything today went like clockwork. I put the backs on the cabinets. At that time the FedEx guy walks in the door with my hinges. I put the hinges onto the doors and hung them on the cabinet. Had lunch and then loaded up the cab and top and brought them over and it was a simple install. Just put in place and put the top on. Drill some holes in the counter and for some wires and holes for the knobs.

Forgot the shelves and counter grommet and on the way back the sign store called to say my numbers were ready. Perfect. Went there and paid. Everything was going like clockwork. I was waiting for the bomb that I expected to happen because of all this stuff lining up perfectly.

The sign guy made a mistake and gave me a #2 instead of a #2-3 called him and he said he'd make a new one and come and pick it up.

Then I got back and the guy who hired me had put up some of the numbers. Very badly. I got instructed by the sign guy how to install them. Soapy water and then squeegee it out, wait a while and peel the top layer off. He just put them on with no water, bubbles and wrinkles and the number 1 was crooked. So he screwed up 1, 4-5, 6-7, 8-9 before he stopped. I notice the second I walked into the door. He seemed to think it was OK. It was horrible. No time to replace them. I purposely went from #40 backwards because those numbers are out of the way and not front and center. I figured by the time I got to the main row I would have the kinks worked out, and he went and did this . He thought it was OK, he was wrong.
