Just finished up this high paying job for my sister. Pretty much rebuilt the thing. Had all the outside side metal off to fix any rot. Pretty much a all winter job off and on. I would never do this for anyone else. she does my books and did help on it so a fair trade off.

Completed the exterior walls and got a good portion of the interior walls up yesterday and today.
Trusses are coming at the beginning of next week so all of the interior plus some quick and dirty post and beam work has to be finished by this Friday.
I figure we'll spend the hottest part of the summer up on the roof sheathing and running sub fascia, and building our overhangs /lookouts.....

Interesting, worked perfect for me. Anyhow, it's cool stuff. 10 second cure times after you put the UV light on it. Same stuff they use on prefinished flooring, without the UV light it will never dry, with it, it dries in seconds.

Not a bad week for two guys...
Just the boy (our 16 y/o carpenter in training and myself).
All of the interior walls are up and plumbed and lined, top plates are getting tied in tomorrow morning, and we'll finish the garage framing as well. Trusses are coming first thing Tuesday morning (provincial holiday on Monday), so we've gotta get the bearing walls (at minimum) completed tomorrow before we leave site and head back to our home town.

Been working on this one most of the week, it's going to be an interesting one.

Windows are coming Monday, the biggest ones are 4x12s. Hoping we can lay them on their sides on the telehandler forks and not have to manhandle them down the drive and up into the house.

The tall wall is all LSL and Paralam, floor joists and rafters are 1 3/4x14" LSL.

Access is fairly tight, compounded by being off a VERY busy state highway. It was interesting getting the 26' rafters down with the telehandler, not sure I could have done it without the swivel carriage.
I didn't get any pics of that unfortunately.

Not much of an update for this one. We're in a bit of a pinch because trusses are arriving early Tuesday morning (after a long weekend) so we had to get as prepared as we could for them with just two guys.
We completed the interior walls (minus the closets and door opening heights) she then got the bare bones of the garage framed up.
We'll add some more bracing Tuesday morning and start getting the roof set.
Apparently we're getting each truss set by crane so I expect that we'll have the entire roof structure up by the end of the day.

Did some work at thee ole homestead. Nothing I've ever done before. Driveway sealing.

This rear part of the driveway is toast. I didn't realize how bad it really was until I started weed wacking and blowing the driveway off. And when I say blowing the driveway off that's what it was doing in some spots. It's toast. But for now I'll have the coating on it and it might last through the winter.

The front part of the driveway went nice. The back part of the driveway which is 18x15 took 3 1/3 buckets to do because it was so porous and cracked. And no, I didn't fill the cracks beforehand. Just slather it on thick with a roller, cause there ain't no way I was doing this with a squeegee.

 

I think this rental is going to end up being my folks house while they build one, my brother this going to buy their place

This will bring top dollar though when its time to rent. Even putting a out door kitchen on the porch

Having to add girders in a number of places and just pouring concrete in the back bedroom. Trash framing on some pretty good on others. Definitely added onto twice
