Okay now hear me out guys. I spent the day putting all my deck light wires in flex and J-boxes.

But I had a sudden brain fart.

What if I used 12g romex to keep the rats from eating my wires apart.

Will the rats be able to chew through that thick of solid copper?

Today I put 10 lights and the wiring in metal flex and j boxes. Still have 30 to do. I'm going to put a Box for every 6 lights. Then run a flex line to each light. I drilled the back side of the light holes just enough to get a snug friction fit for the 3/8" aluminum flex.

Got these out of my shop finally. Was waiting on mirror. 1st they didn't have any, they they got it in but couldn't get a tech to cut it and finally it was ready yesterday. I paint the rear of the mirror to match the door so that takes extra time. They match nice.

The door to the left is the new one. The rest I made a while ago.

And these are in a small bathroom. I questioned them about having the mullion in the mirror where you'd be looking at yourself, but that's what they wanted.

I asked the same thing and suggested some kind of decorative glass. He said mirror and that what I got them.

Looks better than I expected, I was worried about it looking stupid and at least it doesn't.

OK, I forbid you to walk into this kitchen. Problem solved LOL

That's what I've used for speaker wire my whole life. Not sure if it was called lamp wire or not.

Just wrapped up a full gut remodel on a 4 plex (other than exterior paint, it's unusually rainy this year and the owner can't make up their mind on colours or patterns 🤷). Started out as just the sparky and finish carpenter on this, but the superintendent walked and the GC brought us on to do project management as well.

Took out a dividing wall in each unit to open up the kitchen. New cabinets, flooring, doors, windows, and appliances throughout. New lap siding wainscotting and beam and column wraps on the exterior. Tops are corian and the cabinets are acrylic, which surprised me for a rental, but those were the specs.

Ran into a few fun surprises, like yarding out the carpet and finding the slab heaved 1" in the downstairs unit from that big bastard of a tree in the back yard, and then the plumbers drilling their own water lines at 4pm on a Friday 😆.

It turned out to be a fun one though, and the GC is already tossing smaller jobs our way (he's busy doing big commercial jobs and is trying to get out of residential).

That's not a kitchen. That's a bathroom with appliances.
