Nice work, but next time, put a dime-sized dob of color-matched finger nail polish in a sandwich bag. Squirt the mixed epoxy into the bag and mix until it turns white. Pinch the tip of the baggie and pull until it elongates into a perfect dispensing nipple just before the tip rips off. No matter how perfect the seam, clear epoxy shows up as a medium gray when it's not tinted.

Thanks. Yes I know it wont be an invisible seam but it will be good for a shower curb. I have a buddy that works with solid surface in the shop that he works at and when I need it he gives me their epoxy gun and the correct color match epoxy. I didn't want to use it for this because its a half hour drive to his shop and then he needs it back the next day. Good idea about the nail polish. I wonder if it effects the strength of the epoxy? I will have to try it sometime.

WCI 2024 Parade of Homes House #1 getting landscaping. #2 is at 70% completion - both will be in 2.5-3.25mm category (house and landscaping only, not land valuation) so I'm competing with ourselves - and the other 5 in that catefory.

. One super was assigned to House 1 and another was on House 2 so some competition there to have fun. The other superintendent only does commercial and my dad's house he is supering won't be ready for a competition until 2025. Have two for 2025 as well

Was at one of the homes today, not my work. I do think it looks good with the diamond plate behind the hydronic heat manifold/lines.

Holy chit I'd be handing that tech a dinner card to the best place in town

That'll make a pretty good heat reflector.

PITA cabinet. Well, the finishing. Had to do several layers of masking to get a nice smooth finish over the whole thing. Started by finishing the shelf on the bottom first and then masking. Then I did the face frame and masked that. And then the rest of the cabinet. One part of one leg in the back of the cabinet was rough and I masked some of the cabinet and sprayed that one area. The back isn't on yet.

Same job, different bathroom. Picture was taken before I put the faux drawer front on, was waiting for the paint to dry on the board that would support the drawer front.

I did one for a restaurant we had four tanks of acid. One was blue one was green one was black and one was terra-cotta, we laid down the blue and green first and let that sit on the concrete for about an hour. Then we came in with the brown and black and lightly blended everything in with a mop, I can see the swirls not sure if that’s a mop or a float??

These were on Builder Trend this morning in the wee hours so I assume my brother or the project superintendent for that house were playing with their drone

I hate the over hang on the front of the house - back story is it is a tear down and had to leave the bottom floor in the exact location it was in, not one corner or wall could move to keep it there - otherwise loses grandfathered set back from the lake. They were very strict about the forms not moving so I actually let the architect the client have retained go and my dad drew the construction drawings - which was a lot easier on our carpenters and also I'd imagine the mechanicals

Anyway the city fought us but the way thy wrote the CCRs was too loose and didn't really establish rules for the second story - the over hang was passed on second try for a variance - the overhang allowed the bedrooms to be appropriate size- but I would of carried the stone around the whole overhang and not just around the posts.

They also had vague CCRs on covered decks - it specially said can't have a roof over a second story deck OVER the water, clients wanted a covered deck so we added one over the land, the only people to try that and the last that will be allowed in that village - the CCRs now read you can't have a roof over any second story deck andwhere on a lot that has lake frontage.

Happy to help those ****ers fix their CCRs and I enjoyed my variances even if they won't be there going forward 😆

White recessed cans are on the interior decorator, I fought for Bronze cans we'd usually use on wood ceilings. She likes the white cans lol

Yes blocks views. I blocked more views with the side porch but I didn't need a variance for that as it wasn't in CCRs. One of the city councilmen is 80 and he said "you son of a *****" under his breath when I made it clear we'd be in mediation or court before I would accept not being able to build it over the land

I wanted to tell him enjoy the couple days you got left old timer but I just shook his hand and said thank you sir for your help when I left woth approval lol
