Knotty Oaks, a custom we are building in Castell. Superintendent gets back from vacation Monday, we have final walk through scheduled before we vacuum out the stud cavities and get the MEP inspection and spray foam.

They are killing me on the windows, it's going to end up sitting because the designer and client went months past their deadline on the Selections Priority Calander. She's OK with it so thats good, just not great for cash flow lol

What's all the blocking for in the garage?

After the final inspection have him put up screens on that side. Doubtful they would do anything.

Easier way to put a smile on a builders face is to see a bunch of trucks on their site. The tight lot lines suck, we have Teo that are lot line to lot pine, makes the houses we build on ranches that much more fun

A bit beefy, but nice looking. Who gets to cut the glass and glaze them in?

Ya, beefy. Most of the windows I've ever made the max was 2" except sometimes the bottom rail. 18th century reproductions. Usually 12 over 12s or 12 over 8s But 9s and 6s were common enough.

Match exactly what was there from the early 1870s. Previous to 1870, the divided light bars are much wider, almost an 1"

Also never seen a wood sash that didn't have a 3 or 3 1/2" bottom rail any where around the midwest. The guys making "production" sashes make every part 2.5" wide, looks lazy.

Sash loses an inch by the time you account for blind stops and window stops.

This patio was an optical illusion before….. so we’re re-doing it. Pretty sure initial guys didn’t compact anything, shoot grades, or pull strings. F#%king pathetic especially on a 4 million dollar home….. but I have to say I make a lot of money redoing jackass work! View attachment 554206

Yes. This is my parents bathroom, it’s a combination of helping them(they’re 4 months into their diy remodel so far) and also practicing my tile skills somewhere there is a little more understanding if it’s not perfect. My Dad was hell bent on saving the mud bed (and way too many other things-don’t get me started) I told him all the downsides, he wouldn’t budge and I didn’t want to fight it, it’s not like it’s a paying customer and a standard warranty.
