I've had this Makita for a month or two, but had only used it on a deck job and some minor exterior work.
Finally got a baseboard project and some serious inconsistencies showed up.

Now I have some time to fiddle with tuning it up, and frustration ensues.

A thread on the fog discusses loosening the bracket at the user end of the rails, then tweaking them.

Tried that. Almost got it dialed in. Then cut some baseboard for a cope cut. First one was almost dead on.

Then they got progressively worse until I was right back where I started.

This is why I gave up on sliding saws several years ago.

Cutting a 1x10 to test the rail tweaking. Had it really close but it wouldn't stay.

You guys with the cordless Dewalt and Milwaukee sliders. Can your saw make a plunge cut in the fence side of the board. Then pick up saw head and cut from operator side, connect the kerfs flawlessly?

The makita is on a Bosch gravity rise.
Previous trouble was on a Hitachi c10fhs several years ago. That was on a trojan stand.
Not sure how a stand would affect this.

oh i was seeing if you had a fence that was in plane with the saw fence which causes issues with warps in the board .can hold them away at the point blade makes contact .Also lack of support on the end of the board could have you putting to much attention on keeping the board flat . Actually you might consider getting an out feed wing from fastcap .You will find it a lot nicer to use ,that it will add to your cutting .
It just that you have had this issue before .Still could be the saw . A lemon .
Other then this issue do you like the saw ?
For the heck of it change the blade -maybe it is pulling to the side
put a picture of a saw i just got .bought one of the fast cap feed tables .it was tax time so i just got the one . really ups my game just having that one .basically this is my general work saw now . if theres a lot of trim i bring in a saw on an older american design ,saw helper . It just makes your job easier .

I've always been a fan of continuous material support for my miter saws. I have a saw helper system that I was going to put on this saw after I got it dialed in. Very similar to fastcap, but about 20-30 years older.

My test board is a 1x10 sized to cooperate with the limitations of the bosch stand as is. Wouldn't hurt to try a fresh blade. The stock Makita blade has been very impressive so far though. If this saw was accurate I would love it.

My corded version is dead nuts on. However I drove to pick it up instead of have it delivered. I'm wondering if it's being shipped while locked in an indent. Any slight jar could throw it out.

saw helper - yes ,i have two of them .they are great .
when they ship saws they are packed well generally . Something is up .
I had nonslider dewalt doing this .I was baffled .Never did figure it out .just fixed itself or something . I hope when you figure it out it is an easy fix . Seems like a nice saw ,other then this sorta major issue .

The only thing about these saws is the fence doesn't slide. I guess you either need to make a fence or cut large crown on the flat. Otherwise it's a great saw.

My Bosch 12 inch non slider was off if I tried to connect a 45 on o e side to one cut on the other side. Then one day it was just right on.

It must have been a blade change I am assuming. Haven't had a problem since.

Now I use the small Mil. cordless slider. Haven't done any trim work yet, so don't know if it is on or not.
