Pull off the black shield and see what's under there. Most likely repairable. You aren't going to patch a hole, you'll have to splice it.

I don't know the brand but I gave up on my 100ft hose after three splices immediately leaked. Now I've spliced my 50 footer a couple of times and leaks at the splice.
The more the hose clamp bites the more it leaks. In a bind I wrapped the hose in scrap sand paper under the clamp but still no bueno

Cost/time versus benefit on this one... $38 that you can charge to the customer frees you up to do more important things... keeps the hose worker employed too...;)

"The ELL".... as they say when they first came out. Supposed to be top drawer.

These are splices for it

If you get the flexzilla, make sure it's made here. I've had three of them (only paid for the first one) and the first two failed within a year, two years in a row and neither were USA made. After the second failure, I was told they would be sending one made in the USA. I don't know if they were making some here and some abroad or if they tried outsourcing it all and had too many quality issues. No problems with the USA made one so far. All were promptly replaced under warranty with no hassle.

I got a Harbor freight polyurethane hose, it's gray. And it's chugging along by the side of the Flexeel hose. Haven't had issues with either. But I don't use them that often. Trim jobs on kitchens I make is the usual use. Putting in crown on occasion. I bought it because I needed a hose and I was there. So far I'm pretty happy with it.

We have retractable HF air hoses at the shop, the mechanism works fine, the hoses have failed in less than a year. The core and jacket are all checked as if they been out in the sun all year. I’m thinking about getting a couple of genuine Milton hoses to replace the hoses only.

I have 4 retractable air hoses. One from Grainger, still works and never an issue. 2 from Harbor Freight. The original one worked really nice. I replaced the hose because it was just enough to fit on the reel and I got tired of having to fix it if it piled up. Put a poly hose on it and the memory can make it a pain but it takes up a lot less space. The 2nd one I got years later and the return spring is a little weak but it always winds up. The 4th one is only a 25 footer and I think I got that one on Amazon. Always have a leaking issue at the fitting even though I've replaced it a few times.

Sometimes the success of the repair depends upon the quality and condition of the hose you're repairing. Kuriyama hoses are prolly the best I've used in the last decade, but Flexzilla is more readily available and their hose repair kits are actually pretty good. Parker hoses & fittings would be my 2nd choice if I was prioritizing quality. Swagelok fittings are also excellent but more of a pita. Loctite 592 on threads. Minimize potential issues and prolong the lifespan of hoses & fittings by installing a ball valve at the tank as well.

That nlue reel and orange hose is HF. It was one of those 4 finger things and came with that hose for 25$ maybe and I had the rings I put on to the fingers and its been perfect hose and all for 30 years. The hose is stiff but that is ok and it has been on 24/7. I have another black rubber was outside 20 and still works.
I have 5 reels and 3 whips.
