Gutter Brush...?

Ok, unless I'm going blind, there isn't really a siding related section here... and it seems lots of other siding talk happens in this area, so hopefully this fits.

Anyone familiar with Gutter Brush for helping keep debris out of gutters?

I had a homeowner asking about them compared to cover type systems. I've heard them advertised and talked about on a syndicated H&G type radio program, but have no personal experience with them.

The concept looks solid... but wondering how they actually perform.

Rob,

There is a Child Forum under the Sub-Forum, "Specialty Trades", directly under the Roofing category.

I have heard of Gutter Filter and some other similar ones, but i don't buy into the concept of them never clogging.

The organic debris may not penetrate the brush/filter, but it "May" remain on top of the product until it disintegrates into a continuous clump of rotting organic debris and mulch. Once that has occurred, it is just like packing mud on top of the filter like product making it useless.

Read www.askthebuilder.com and search "Gutter Covers" or "Gutter Guards" and he has a lot of articles on how they all fail and still need cleaning, until a recent product he likes. I like that he does actual hands on studies of the products.

yep its a brush that you stick in the gutters to keep debris out. I seen tommy silva on ask this old house show one to a homeowner as a option. He didn't recomend he said the leaf guards were a better option. Speaking of cleaning gutters. I cleaned my sisters today had to take one of the down spouts apart it was clogged with whirrlebirds. Tried snaking it first no go on that.
