Hello guys,

What is the best caulk for sidings? What do you think of dap dynaflex 230 white?

Thanks

I use the quad 4, it doesn't get dirty like latex. I've also used it once on a tub surround on a rental, and everything around it was loose. I came back a couple years later and it still looked like the day I installed it. I also used it on a junk trailer on the seams, and despite some of the plywood warping a half inch, it held fast and just stretched out.

230 is designed for interior use
Not according to DAP, who should know. The first line on their web page:
"Silicone Tough" latex sealant that offers outstanding exterior performance...
And next to that is "Best for windows/doors/siding"
We can debate how well they accomplished that, but let's not misrepresent the manufacturer.

I would not use 230 outdoors. I didn’t feel it was durable enough.

Not a big fan of big stretch either. Thought it was difficult to work with.

Ive been using Sidewinder for years, and it’s hands down the best I’ve ever used.

It’s a pain in the ass to work with no doubt, it’s half glue I think, 🤣 but I’ve pulled off trim 10 years later and the wood split because I couldn’t break the bond.

It sticks equally well to wood, metal flashing, whatever. It’s more durable than most trim products. 😳

Haven’t seen too many guys mention it here over the years. Maybe it’s a regional thing?
