I have personally only used OSI Quad on all my exterior projects for over 13yrs now.
I strongly recommend never to test a new caulk sealant on a customer's home unless you have properly tested the product yourselve!!
I usually use scrap 1×2 furs and 3/8" ply cutting it 1½'× 2' measuring the furs to outline perimeter of the plywood. I then apply the new caulk sealant on back of furs and place them in position required, lift piece after placing then re-apply fur on plywood making sure that pressure is applied equally across entire surface on every individual fur. Last I use the same caulk sealant to seal the inner perimeter of furs to plywood, wait 24hrs so caulk can properly cure to be tested thoroughly using freezing cold temperatures for roughly a week or so then a decent space heater preferably low to ground having metal heating coils with a open face metal grill for exactly the same time as before!! I recommend repeating the process at least 1more time before you attempt
any water seal test, if it passes after being froze repeat water test once more after being re-heated for the last time!!
If it passes then I would think it's a pretty decent product that could be used with some convidence in the caulks ability to do the job that you are needing it to do!! DAP caulking products is in my opinion making a huge leap in recruiting the 2 brains responsible for creating Quad in hopes they can produce a competitive sealant to the market that comes remotely close to their competitors, something they hav'nt accomplished in the many years of being in business!!!
I hope this post helps you out in anyway possible but in all honesty if it's just a dollar cheaper then OSI Quad is it truely worth it? I guess that's up to you, I for one would not switch products unless it's irrefutable that it's a better product, I guess only time will tell!!
