I noticed a couple of other contractor's here are from Oklahoma. My question is are there any other work comp insurance providers in oklahoma other than Compsource. I would love to be able to shop around but that doesn't look possible.
There are certainly other providers that offer worker's compensation insurance. But, most are offered by independent agents and are carried through upstream larger companies, which in turn are more expensive.
Compsource OK, Oklahoma's state government entity, was setup to reduce workers compensations costs for business and is by far the most economical. But in turn, you do not have an "agent" working in your behalf.
Both will require annual audits at a minimum. So, my advice would be to keep very accurate records and always require current workers comp certificates from subs and supplier. And, do not accept "Certificates of Non-Coverage." This will not relieve from responsibility should an accident occur.
