Well, the wife and I are looking to move and looks like it will be the great state of Texas. We are looking around the Dallas area. My question is, where would I look for info on General Contractor, permits, licensing, insurance etc. requirements for the Dallas area and state of Texas?

Also, any recommendations on certain areas to look at or stay away from in the Dallas area?

Can't wait for the BBQ!!!!

Haha. Well we can probably be talked into Houston as well. How are y'alls construction market in Houston compared to the Dallas area? Are yall stayin busy? haha What is the weather like in Houston, I hear a lot about that el nino type weather down there and the humidity is a lot higher.

So searching around on google (thanks JumboJack) it looks like there is no testing required for a GC in Texas? Is this correct? To be licensed you would have to register with the state?
