Where to find General Contractor requirement info for certain state?

I'd stay away from Dallas in general!!:laughing: I'm from Houston and this is a much more nicer place, down here by the coast. Go to the court house or annex to find your info or down to the permitting department building(here in Houston they have one prob do in Dallas)There is a part I do like in Dallas called Deep Ellum(spelling ?) Its a happening part of town w bars, night clubs, resturants, ect. Had fun there many times. Good luck Welcome to Texas ya'll!

Haha. Well we can probably be talked into Houston as well. How are y'alls construction market in Houston compared to the Dallas area? Are yall stayin busy? haha What is the weather like in Houston, I hear a lot about that el nino type weather down there and the humidity is a lot higher.

So searching around on google (thanks JumboJack) it looks like there is no testing required for a GC in Texas? Is this correct? To be licensed you would have to register with the state?
