My day usually begins at 5:45 but sitting here across from my wife (who is chit-chatting away) trying to work and type this quick little post I am realizing that it will have to begin even earlier if I expect to get anything done...
When working on an occupied home,
usually when the last HO car leaves
the driveway/all the kiddies are off to school.
I no longer see any profit in making
everyone's mornings more stressful
by banging into each other, waiting on
breakfast to be over, and playing driveway shuffle.
Like Neolitic, when we're on-site we wait till the kids are gone 8-8:30ish. When we're working off-site we like to tee-off about 7:30 to avoid the hot part of the day.
Out of bed at 7:15 and into the shop around 8:15-8:30. Leave the shop anywhere between 3:30 and 7:30 usually around 6:45. one of the reasons I opened my own business is because I hated having to be 45 minutes away from my house and be there at 7:00 am. The other is because I really despise authority.
Having some boss sitting at the door way looking at his watch as you come in 1 minute late and looking disgusted at you. No reason life has to be by the minute. You get in, you work, you get the tasks accomplished you go home. None of this you were one minute late bullcrap and now I have to put a mark on your record.
Out of the house by 6:45, at the office by 7:15, men show up 7:15 to 7:30, sent them out to jobs, men back by 4:00 to 5:00. I do sales calls and take care of running crews, quotes and paper work during the day and do some sales calls at night. Home 8:00 to 9:00, watch the boob tube until 11:00 and do it all over again.
