It's been a little dead hereabouts lately, so I thought I would try and liven things up a little.

Post some pics of your current tile projects in progress. The good, the bad, and the ugly.

Almost there, waiting glass enclosure for this steam shower.
Just added the glass blocks. She did not like the poplar trim, we took out and finished the sheetrock flash with the glass blocks, looks better.
Sheetrock patched, needs texture, hate texturing:mad:

Working/Active Commercial remodel... you know? the ones where you get to yell at and scare the crap out of a few clueless people. Before word spreads to stay the Phuck off the tile or you'll get ass chewed.

Pretty laid back overall but WTF!!!!!!!!! STAY OFF THE PHUCKING TILE

Ok so this is the first time for me.

The floor has a 1" hump in 10'. It has 18x18 travertene on the diagional
there was 5/16 lippage in areas.
she let me grind and rehone it I have never done it before.
I used a Hum-B 7" grinder/polisher.
I did the initial grind with a 50 grit cup wheel.
followed with 50/100 ring wheel
used stone filler to handle the all the voids.
followed up with dry pads 100/200/400
sealed it.

This is my brother's bathroom. This is actually my third tile job. The first was a 4'x4' tile floor, and a small kitchen floor (my previous house).

I know it's no where near perfect, not even close. But, can't get experience without setting tile.

This was reclaimed attic space. Had to raise the floor to accommodate plumbing.

Just a few observations.

1) tool the grout or caulk in the corners. Give them a nice sharp finish.

2) Looks like you had some issues with the diagonal halves and the edges. Those are tricky to cut, but next time I would cut until I had a whole piece.

3) Your pattern is a bit of. I would have started in the corner with a cut and ended with a full at the bullnose.

4) I would also have used the diagonals as a border and finished the top with the stacked pattern. But that's just a matter of taste and opinion.

I had a lot of issues.lol

I really appreciate the comments, but can you elaborate on #2 & #4. I'm not sure what you mean.

One problem I had with the wall tiles was gravity.lol

My brother wasn't ecstatic about that half tile next to the border either.

The below picture was my attempt at panoramic view, but it made the photo a bit distorted and makes the wall look curved.

#2) if you look at the third pic with the mixer, the two bottom diagonal cut tiles edges are missing, or at least appear to be. I can't tell if they chipped off or were warped and got buried with grout.

#4) It's just a personal opinion.

Jon,

I'd note that next time be sure to start your ledger a tad lower so you don't have those awkward slivers above the curb:thumbsup:
I'll spend 30 minutes taking measurements, plumb and level angles included and then another 2 hours if needed doing scale CAD layouts. Including Fixture placement. The plumbers roll their eyes but I never had a mixing valve cut thru a border halfway.

Its nice to have no surprises and a scale layout. Planning Planning Planning

I hears ya Keeyter! the only repreive your back gets is when you strap on some knee pads while working in the stove area. here's a couple I did recently. Glass tiles = little micro cuts on all my digits! The trick is to have a nice cold bucket of water to rinse off cut tiles/stop the bleeding lol!

When you calculate the time it saves and how easy or is to set nearly perfect tile is even say is just as cheap.

Edit: Sorry! Typing fast while talking to the Mrs. I didn't check the post entirely before posting.
