It's been a little dead hereabouts lately, so I thought I would try and liven things up a little.

Post some pics of your current tile projects in progress. The good, the bad, and the ugly.

Nice tile work! Can't say that I like the air vent right at the tub and shower. Any water on the floor could go into the duct and down a wall, ceiling or worse, straight to the HVAC unit.

Ugliest bathroom I've done in quite some time
Yellow (silk) quartz lock green shower floor tile and ugly ass accent for edge of tub

Can't like them all I guess
That is some fine, top quality tile installation. Great layout and attention to detail. You gave the customer what they wanted and in the end that is what counts. I agree with your opinion regarding color and style. To each their own.

I find the niche placement interesting, but can't figure out how that works in the framing? Keeping the right side flush with the back wall. I picture a stud forming the corner, but I assume you just framed a box with a cripple above and below on the right side and flush. This means you would not use a Recess-it box. So what was your backing? Kerdi board?

Why did the listello not wrap all the way around the tub?

This actually brings up a good topic maybe for another thread. What do you do when the customer has a backasswards, crazy stupid, ugly or ridiculous idea/ design. Do you continue to pretend that it is awesome and just do what they want? Or do you try to sway them away towards a better color, style, layout design?

like I said, plank tile is very popular here in the Tampa, Florida
area and all over Florida. probably because we do tons of tile, sand ruins wood floors and the moisture on some slabs. I have seen a lot of wood floor ruined down here.

I use wedi board for my niches, a lot less expensive and more flexibility with sizing

And ya there were was definitely some tension onus debate on the listello wrapping around top

This was actually a designer I was working with! Very frustrating. Now that the glass is in, it does look a little better

Thanks
Steve

Here is a close up pic of the glass tile corners. and the steam shower.
Laundry room floor with lighter color urethane grout. Actually all the grouts are urethane-I stop using others.

nice work Charimon. gotta love those patterns

just finished a 1600 sq.ft. French pattern travertine installation project with a Ivory Blend in Odessa, Florida this week. Got it grouted earlier this week and then sealed the other day. it came out really nice and the customer is pleased.

Do you use buffer to finalize the clean up ogf grout? Even I avoid the middle part of the travertine and grout just the edges, it leaves residue.I seal before install. When I buff with white pad it just comes perfect.

with the honed you could buff it up it you want a partial shine.

mine was Brushed & Chiseled travertine, they weren't going for a glossy look.

I did this honed a few months ago and just washed it a few times.
they also didn't want a shiny look, liked the matte finish.

Very nice!
I did an entry way with a bath the other week
I started in bath and got completely screwed up on pattern. Fought the rest of the floor through the entry! Will start the way you did next time
