More pics on this bathroom. It's got a built-in stereo with speakers in the walk-in closet, bedroom, bathroom and shower. Heated floor and heated shower floor. Porcelain tile wainscot everywhere. A separate toilet room. This client really went all out :thumbsup:

Clients on site tomorrow, can't come up with grout color. Laticrete Mocha on the floor. Uba Tuba looks real black until lit, then greens....kinda stuck on this one. Forest Green walls, maple cabs. Maybe something grey.......-ish?

Built and installed that floating bench today for the garage/kitchen entry hall......walnut, not tile. Scribed it a hair tight, painter not happy.

Are you feeding that directly into an amp, what do you use for volume control?

Do you get a pop as the tabs short out when you unplug the devices?

Something like and airport express would have been pretty slick.

 

That wouldn't be bad...Sonos ZP120 and an iPort would have been more my style...also a pair of in-wall speakers.

 

I'm a dick but an honest dick...you build a Ferrari of a bathroom but then slapped on Wal-Mart seat covers.

If budget was an issue you could have corner mounted a single Sonos Play:3, ran power to it and added a wireless bridge. Total RETAIL cost would be $370 Canadian...probably closer to 340 US retail.

Then anyone with a smart phone or tablet could control the audio...you would have access to SiriusXM, Spotify, Rdio, InternetRadio and your entire music collection off of your computers.

Effectively you have a music source, and amp and speaker all in one box for less money than you paid for all your bits and pieces.

It's just painful to see a POS setup like that ruin an otherwise perfect bathroom.

I was kind of thinking that its not his fault that the customer didn't have more money to spend...

 

I though all you tilesetters would be impressed that I even knew what electricity even was!

How that straight edge is attached to the wall? I could not find a way to do that, so always start at the bottom and use shims etc.
