It's been a little dead hereabouts lately, so I thought I would try and liven things up a little.

Post some pics of your current tile projects in progress. The good, the bad, and the ugly.

One more thing, try using glass cutter, instead of glass blade if you guys ever come across this tile...it has paper backing and any water takes it off like nothing.

Not to mention I had QEP glass blade(brand spanking new) and I still felt like I am in Vietnam with all the glass flying everywhere.

Here is an install I did a couple years ago. I was pretty gentle when I was grouting. I used sanded and it scratched those little glass inlays. Maybe it was soft glass? Can glass have different hardness ratings?

Anyways, the customer never noticed and I did it on the cheap everyone was happy in the end:clap: ,but I learned.

Nice floor! Doesn't seem like enough glass there to notice much of anything.

I honestly dont wanna speculate esp because I did not take picture of myself measuring it but it was jus a tad under 1/8th

Still had a little bit of haze on I had to wipe off but all and all I am ok with how it turned out.
Well, it looks good bro  your customer is happy and if there ever is a problem, jus fix'r. I think it will be fine

Ethos, that's CRAP man ! Are you freaking serious man.. Jesus !

That's awful, the regular grout seems to be better. The glass stands out more along with the different shades.
The quartz crap looks dull, and dirty.. I'm sorry man, but of you are using that . You shouldn't get paid .

Garbage , just garbage.

Nice one Angus

After you get used to using the urethane grout, in my opinion, it's actually easier to install. Urethane grout causes problems for people who treat it like normal grout. Fact is that it has so many advantages over epoxy and standard cementuous grout, it's silly to fight it as at least a viable alternative, if not the truly superior product.

Vs Cementuos Grout

More flexible, less likely to crack.
Premixed, so color always matches.
Inherently waterproof, no sealing required, ever.
Clean as you go (easier in my opinion)

Vs Epoxy Grout

More flexible, less likely to crack.
Water cleanup
Premixed, so color always matches.

There are some applications where epoxy is superior, like a commercial kitchen floor, or a tiled hot tub at a spa or something like that. There aren't any applications where cementuous grout is superior to urethane, except that it is cheap.

Edit: Here's a video of a guy showing how it's done. Have a helper clean as you go, and you'll be every bit as fast, if not faster than with cementuous grout.

So macho and gung-ho.

Epoxy is superior for high-traffic commercial areas in my opinion, which sounds like what you do a lot of. For what I do, which is typically kitchens and baths in wood construction homes that move a lot more than commercial structures, urethane is way more flexible and will allow movement over time better than epoxy. Also, it's just easier to work with, even if you are a "pro." Water cleanup, and no mixing or measuring. Just pop the top, give it a stir, and get the job done with a high quality product.

I'm not saying epoxy sucks, but to write off urethane is just nonsense.

Epoxy only, no way it's going to crack. Unless you don't know what you are doing.
Even if you dont know what you are doing...it wont crack! Its that good. Epoxy grout is an animal unto itself. Nothing like it!

Just finnished using Eco Prim to do Tile over tile, painting 2 coats went quick, I just hope it works.

But I ran into a problem with the Spectra Lock grout setting up to quickly - about 12 min, I tosed it aside and mixed the other bucket I had without a problem.

I told my rep and he took it off the bill!
