Pretty cool 12x24's. Used my Raimondi Flowridge trowel for the first time on this one. Thing is a monster,5"x19" 1/2" notch. Tiles came out nice and flat!

I got perfect coverage with it. Took a while getting used to a 19" long trowel. Learned real quick not to put too much thinset in front of it. The first 50' i was using both hands on the trowel to spread. That got old pretty fast.

As for the burp's...
With such a big and heavy tile and the way the comb comes out all i had to do was set the edge of the tile down and drop it,give it a little adjustment and it burped itself.

Once i got used to the trowel, you cover a lot of ground fast!
We nicknamed the trowel "Excalibur"

Looked at those. If they came in 16" i would almost consider them. Just worried they cant take the abuse we dish out on the trowels.

For the price i pay for the Marshalltown's, the trowels get tossed after 3 or 4 jobs.

Never tried a 16" or 18" trowel before.

Took me a good year to get used to my 5"x18" California Drywall Knife.

I think it is just time on the tool and developing more of the tiny muscles in the wrist and forearm to use these big bad boys properly.

Here is a look at the slab floor for the custom linear shower drain going in. I had my metal boys make me a nice custom unit.

The stone boys sandblasted strips in to make the shower floor safer under foot.

Can ya get a mortar. Love to bomb those stupid jet ski's buzzing around tonight.

After using a few different trowels, I chose these:
http://www.barwalt.com/index.php/products/trowels/ultralife-trowel-system/

1) They don't take up much space
2) They are stainless. I've come to the fact that I only want stainless trowels.
Angus, I was just about to write a post on this kit to see if anyone was using it. I want to upgrade my trowels and came across this kit last night. Does the handle stay tight in the trowel or do you find your self adjusting the tension every once in a while?

There is no adjustment. When you snap the back clip on, it's good to go. Taking the clip out to change blades is a little hard. It will be easiest if you keep that area cleaned (no dried thinset).

The only weakness is a bit of flex where the handle mounts to the base. I seem to feel it only when I'm torquing on the handle, like when cleaning it.

No way, I did not say ban you, I have no authority to do so even..I missed your funky pics:laughing: I guess you can post some pics as long as a little tile shows at the corner...or behind those TLS buckets...with weapons..like rambo..

i think with the Festool rail I can do a couple things that traditionally are tedious, Like: "fix: poor joints on botched installs.

Cut in decorative joints " if you are mixing tile color for a design you can make both a lil long and cut in the joint so the grout joint is perfect as it goes from tile to tile.

i also plan on using a festool 800 mm rail (30 in) to make an indoor dust free dry cut saw that has a tiny foot print

let alone just plain regrouting
