I hate the Lash. John, I'm surprised you endorse it. The curve on the bottom of the clip actually pulls the tile away from the substrate. You need quite a bit more thinset to use them.
I have never set with either. With the amount of thin-set these large format tiles need going in I have never heard of nor seen an issue with the Lash system.

How come I never see a ten foot straight edge in these pictures? That would be the ultimate testimonal.

I did get a chuckle over the requirement of the floor being level before using the TLS system - that said seeing the work you men are doing with the TLS and Lash for that matter I would look into it if I actually set a large floor one day.

Kip's boys use Lash with great success. Peter tells me he's got a TLS gun coming. I'll give it a go when he get's his care package.

This picture is a floor that I did for my neighbor..Thus..I laid Ditra over the slab ( it was cracked all over) and set this porcelain floor with 1/16'' spacers and blue tape to hold them together..A rubber mallet for the mean one's:mad: and go go go..It turned out flat as glass..His dog's can PEE PEE on the wood floors and it won't stain (EVER).. It's Porcelain:thumbup:

How much do those "training wheels" Cost???:laughing: Edit: It looks like you would get more "lipage" using those "Training wheels" than setting by hand..I know the plank style tiles you are using "always" have a "dipped" corner or two or all..I would set those free hand and stagger 1/3rd of the tiles span..I have set around 2000 sq ft of plank style tiles in the last 2 years and get no lipage..Your thoughts?..

training wheels??????? no the tile was cupped yes the floor was SLC . We flattened the floor if we leveled it it would have come up 3 inches in 36 feet................so we filled the baths and flattened the floor. The planks are cupped and this batch was way worse than down stairs.

angus can call them what ya want.....not my fault ya cant afford the best system on the tile market............TUSCAN LEVELING SYSTEM.............hell a few weeks ago i posed the training class and it was taken down if ya showed up ya got the good gun and caps and straps a $500.00 start up deal..

well that plank tile is meant to be set like WOOD and a 1/3 each time is a pattern. So to me you dont know what you are doing when setting a true plank tile wood pattern. The ones you did for you neighboor are NOT PLANKS by far. They looked like 12 x 24 or something. The planks Im doing also has a hand scraped look as well. The TLS was the best way to do the next section of this room. I fought the other 1175 feet.

and for the FINAL answer of why its being used. The man who write the check wanted it used on that section because nothing goes in the center of that room. Also by using the TLS ( the best system) he is now sold on it for the next dealership of over 12 thousand sq ft.

So i guess my training wheel was more like a MONEY WHEEL.................bank opens at 9am i will be there ordering money

$$$$$

I call them the Tilers Lazy System

I use RLS because I'm too slow. Using it, I can get the same results and speed up quite a bit. I add about $35 for clips to every 100 sq ft I'm going to tile.
you said Tile Lazy System correct??????? BTW they paid for the caps and straps needed so it didnt cost me a DIME and I get to keep whats extra.....................so i guess I winn both ways:thumbup:

I cant use the ramondi system one because on my hand and the other they dont stock it around here. Only TLS:laughing:
