It's been a little dead hereabouts lately, so I thought I would try and liven things up a little.

Post some pics of your current tile projects in progress. The good, the bad, and the ugly.

A hot tub with a view.

How would you like to hang out in this new deck with 4 or 5 of your closest girlfriends. Such is the life of a Vancouver Playboy...

Love the view.

Where on the top floor deck of the top floor penthouse here in Vancouver. Tomorrow I flood out one of two showers where building here.

Flood Tests for curbless showers

Here is a look at the last one. We passed inspection in Burnaby a few weeks back with this set up;

Took me thirty minutes to set up.

An off cut of MDF molding
Mapaband
Aqua D
Some scrap Hardie
2 boxes of dry wall mud.

This shower the inspector was fine with just a flood test of the wet zone. The glass will be set in before the tile and provision made for anchors. This shower was inspected and pasted in North Vancouver District about 6 weeks back.

Not hard to flood out at all.

Good for you Chad, post up some progress pics.

My little bro lives in your neighborhood, Menifee.

What's his name Greg ? Does he work in construction too ?

This is my concept drawing for it. Travertine and green onyx in the inserts.

Wow, nice. Is that a Roman Tub? If so, will you be building that from scratch?

My brother's name is Alex, he has a little plumbing company. American Classic Plumbing.

Cool.

I'm originally from SoCal.....not sure how I ended up in Ohio. Pretty sure I was drunk at the time though.

Funny thing is.....I like it here. Well, except for winter.
Round here we call it White Mans Weather

The cold doesn't bother me... I hate the snow, slush and especially ice

here is what I am working on for a few days 20 x 20 tile on a 45. Right on the river awesome view. It layed out pretty sweet as well. Had to use noble over the expansion joint on the porch floor. Never have seen a slab cut in a Lani before.

Got about 90 feet installed yesterday not bad for starting at 1 and leaving at 5. And its HOT out for you winter talkers:clap:

I dont know how much that small strip of Noble is going to work.
it might help a little but they require it to be a little wider.

ps. I thought you were a Laticrete guy. you can use HydroBarrier, Blue 92 Anti-Fracture Membrane or the Crack Suppression Kit ;)

You won't see a lot of Kerdi in my installs but here is a peak of the current steam shower project in Vancouver.

My plumber was there yesterday seeing if we can save the installation. It turns out that only the tile guy is to blame for the poor finish work and that the plumbing is good to go.

We cranked it up over 200 PSI and the lines held. Next we tested the steamer line and it too held fine.

The tile crew from Powerhouse will be back onsite tonight to finish off the walls and to flood this curbless shower.

20 x 20 tile just is a PITA to cut on a 45. But im glad they settled for that instead of a solider course with 45 inside with dots in that........
