Looks like a box was a bit more gray than the others.

I had that happen once on similar tile. I didn't notice until I took some pics.

The last 2 marble jobs I've done have turned out like that. I used the marble and stone thinset. If anyone has any suggestions I'll gladly take them. We layed this floor out in the basement and everything seemed to flow nicely. Once the toilet and vanity went in it was less noticeable, we tried putting all the lighter colored stones to that side.

Yes it is. I didn't want to put them there, I started a thread about it a couple weeks ago. There was 1" of space between the niche and exterior wall so I loaded it with spray foam and set it in that.
You can also build out of kerdi board. Biggest problem is exterior work on the wall.

I started laying them out and snapping a picture. You can really see it on a small screen.

Nick, I had a similar issue with color variation on a backsplash. I believe the whole job required about five boxes. I just mixed up the boxes so the lighter tiles were spread out over the whole job as opposed to just all in one place.

That's what I wanted to do. Like you said, the customers always right. I layed out everything and she moved tiles where she wanted them.
