2 at once is always a good thing. Many times I've come in to do the master to completion and then switch to the hall bath. Sucks.

It also looks like the knee wall for the tub is about 2" from a sliding glass door.

 

maybe the doors are being changed out..................or that is the look they want

4)I was going to do 3 2x's for the curb and wrap them in wonderboard and hydroban. or cut a bunch of 2x's on 3 degrees to and 5 inches long and stand them vertically and wrap them. Or I got some wire mesh. I could do 3 2x's and wrap them in mesh and mud them and slope the mud. Suggestions?
on those little knee walls, thy are going to have glass sitting on them to the ceiling. I sloped them at 3 degrees. That sound good to you guys?

 

The last time I used Wonderboard, the joints were really funky. They had kind of a mound at every long joint in the CBU. Really pissed me off and had me working way harder than I needed to. Not to mention it seems to be as stiff as a limp noodle. I haven't used it since.

I do like the spacings you used on those screws though. Looks like some nice precise work.

As far as the knee walls go, what are you using for the capping? If its a solid sill of some sort I usually slope it down about 3/16ths. When they come in to install the glass, they use saddle brackets that screw down into the sill and mount the glass to those. It allows for enough play for you to get a good slope and for them to get a nice straight install.

tile widard, I didn't stagger because the length was about 5-4 so I stood em vertical. Also there used to be windows there so I had a double stud to break and I could screw the board farther back from the edges. It chips off when you have to screw so close to the edges on a single stud in my experience anyways. Do you think the wonderboard is more brittle than say durorock or permabase?

You need to stagger the joints. I don't understand what you mean about the length.
Your trade says carpenter. You should know about staggering. If you don't like screwing into a single stud, get yourself a couple 2x4s and sister them up.

Hey Bluebird,is this a sunkin shower cause I dont see the shower pan wraping the curb?

Also next time try to place 2 2x4' run the shower pan trough them,tuck it nicely and fill up the emptiness between the 2x4's with the queckrette and try to hold the shower pan in between the queckrette.Nice work over all.

 

what is your treatment for the outside corners. when you tape them to mud the seams the tape always wants to lift up out of the mud. I was going to cut the tape to length and then fold it in half to crease it and then attempt to unfold it and put it on. Or do ya'll not use tape on outside corners?

 

Use a fabric membrane and don't worry about it.

Dal sell their branded version called DalSeal. It's made by Noble but is orange. NobleSeal TS is a bit more than Ditra or Kerdi but you need to talk to your supplier to find out costs.

kato I'm not getting what you and blaze are getting at. I have sloped the curb toward the shower and wrapped it in cement board. I have installed the kerdi drain and am hydrobaning the walls, pan, and curb. I am not doing a pvc liner just surface drain and waterproofing to into the drain. Am I missing something?

What brand sinks are they... I like the drain offset and the reveal...
