I just got a job for some serious hagglers...on a relatively easy backsplash in a $500,000 house. Back and forth for three days and right before i was about to recommend they find someone else they accepted the price. They said"$20! thats alot, why do we have to pay for the grout".

They want me to recommend someone to install a deck, Im gonna give them my grumpy old bosses number for fun hahahahha

You probably lucked out not getting it!

I was looking at a pic from a manufacturer selling waterproofing materials.....I forget who....what.....even when.

They had a layered view that showed a reg. rectangular niche and their product.

The missing tile on the upper left of the niche created the odd shape which in my little brain became the "soap dish" section.

This shower is for a couple, and they each wanted one.......so it went from there.

I love niches that play with the standard feeling of structural "integrity".

Thanks.

I can't believe some crazy deaigner/architect hasn't made me do something like this. When this day come they will pay dearly tho.
:laughing::laughing:

The joke's on me.....I only have myself to blame.

This one was real fun.

this was 6 days for the shower and floor

2 pan, durock shower and waterproof, I install and waterproof before pouring the mud bed.
3 shower walls
4 grout shower walls, tile shower base (I hand set the stones, it takes longer but looks better IMO), durock bath floor.
5 grout shower base, install bottom row of shower walls set bath floor
6 grout bath floor attend to details.

The white marble pebbles with bright white grout cost an extra day because I hat to set them after i was finished with grouting the shower walls (dark brown grout would have stained the floor)

quick little shower.
Mud bed marble pebble shower floor with Power Grout (bright white)
6x24 plank with tec (mocha) grout
Nice work. But a white floor in a dark brown shower? Definitely not my preference. But sometimes we all gotta do what the customer likes.

What are the niches trimmed with, Schluters? I use them quite a bit too. How did you miter them?

Exceptional! I really need to improve on my role setting time.

At this point in your life a job like that must feel as natural as ordering a pizza.

We use a metal cutoff saw for them. Small and portable you can get them with pretty tiny blades.

I know you didn't ask me thought I would chime in though lol
