Being upside down, they may as well install a funnel to make sure enough water gets inside. Way too many people who do first, think second if they think at all. Drip loop, what's that?
I got to tell you. The surprising thing is that this has been this way for at least 15 years and it looked fairly good inside. Don't know about the lower NID since it was not opened. Don't believe it is in use. Some days you just have to shake your head in disbelief and move on.
