So I'm an electrician and I'm working on a apartment remodel. I just want to know what type of ceiling this is. It's on the first floor of a two story building. To the left is what it looks like untouched and to the right is when it was opened up. The ply seems to be glued and stapled. Any ideas would be great. Thanks.

Not a whole lot of support there for whatever is above it.

Maybe it's the former location of a stairway that somebody took out and just used whatever they had on hand to block in the ceiling.

It looks like a floor system with engineered wood products. Not everybody overbuilds.
Do you want to see the floor of a garage built in the 40s here:whistling You'd die!

Structure panel? A giant version of a hollow-core door. That bottom skin that's now gone is a critical part of the structure.

OOPS!
