I am trying to create the portion of eave that extends into the gable wall and then the little bit of roofing that retuns up to the underside of the soffit....known as a birdmouth...gable return...whatever....I am unable to do this....does any one have a clue....thanks for any replies.

If I am understanding you correctly I believe this is often called a "pork chop" you may do a search here and at AUGI with this term. If this is indeed what you are talking about AUGI members have access to AU 2005 materials, via AUGI, and there is a great how-to on this exact item.
