I would stay as far away from Drupal as humanly possible. It's probably the least user friendly of all the CMS out there, and a real PITA to design for. Unless you have a solid understand of XHTML, CSS, PHP, and other coding and programming languages, I would suggest looking for a different solution.

Definitely a good idea to move to a CMS though, so you're on the right track. However building a website that converts is a whole different animal. Combination of SEO and traffic, design and copy, and the goals you have layed out for your site.
