Wall Crews

Yes, in big commercial Framing jobs, you normally have different crews for different things.
Layout crew
Wall Crew
Trusses Crew
Punch out Crew
Siding Crew, etc.

My impression about Texas in particular is that the framers are specialized. Most production in California is specialized, too. Better be blazing fast if you claim to be one of the specialists. I can't bounce a nail gun as fast as the sheathing guys do it on target.

Yep, only small time guys like me do the whole thing. Most framers here have crews set up like old boy just said. I never have worked for anyone like that, but have seen it for a long while.
