I have a question that two contractors have given me two different answers to. I know it sounds logical to tie vertical rebar or to drill and eboxy rebar from my continuous chainwall footings into my concrete block piers, but is it listed as code? One says yes and one says he has never done it . My piers will be two blocks high. Is there a heigth minimum before it is required by code?

I can understand higher walls requiring side to side stabilization. Using it for two block high piers is in my opinion a bit overkill, but I am gonna do it. I poured my footings and I'm gonna drill and epoxy rebar once I set the corners of my footprint. The footings passed inspection. I didn't want to ask the building inspector for fear that a job hold up would incur if he wanted to inspect that aspect. Before we poured, he told me either way was acceptable, which made me wonder if it was standard code or his code.
