Which is the best model for occasional use? In our business we update and maintain rental properties so it would not get used every day. In the past we have rented and borrowed. Now we want to purchase a good brake that will last, but not brake the bank. Any advise would be appreciated as to what to buy or what not to buy.

I have used both and they each have good and bad points. The only thing I don't like about the Tapco is the fact that the lock handle can get in the way sometimes when doing funky bends. I like the mechanism itself though, very easy to adjust for different thickness stock. The Van Mark seems to be more complicated to adjust when needed, but is more versatile in my opinion.

i just bought a van mark mark II trimmaster and i love it. sealed bearings, you can bend a 10' piece of metal with one arm with the side of the handle. amazing piece of equipment. not to mention the van mark has a good bit of extras and adapters you can buy for it.

Van Mark Mark II Trimmaster 10'6". won't steer you wrong
