2x4 box headers are common for non bearing walls. That is bearing.

Rafters appear to be white wood, not YP or DF, and its likely they are undersized.

Are those ceiling joists notched onto the plates??

We're adding an extension to the porch, so the ceiling joists are being removed. It has a shed roof, so no question the wall is load bearing.

The 2 x 6 rafters are 24" o.c and span 10'. The roof deck is 7/16" OSB. NC Res. code calls for 5/8" min.

they don't care that they used white wood for structural purposes?
