Well, They are doing it wrong. And yes, I work not just nationally, I work globally, to corner a local market is pretty easy using these tools. You just have to believe...and hustle. It's not dropping an ad in the YP or doing a mailer and letting that stuff do the heavy lifting, to win online...you gotta drink the kool-aide first of all, and then you have to work it one relationship at a time. There is no CPM in social. It's old-school, local butcher shop type marketing.

For example, I assume you have a client or customer who follows you on Twitter or FB Right? Have you ever looked in their stream and figured out what they are into? Maybe they like the Packers. Well, when you finish that ManCave for Mr. Jones, maybe you drop a signed Aaron Rogers football in the room as a thank you. The guy would love the football more than the new room. And all because you paid attention to what HE was saying on twitter or FB. Now that is serving your customer.

For the record. I met Darren via Twitter, and we hired him. :clap:

Instead of an example of a marketing guy targeting a contractor ( B2B) how about some examples of end users like actual home owners?

On a monthly basis what percentage of sales do you think is the result of your efforts on Twitter? Ballpark guess.

On a monthly basis what percentage of sales do you think is the result of your efforts on Twitter? Ballpark guess.

@JEFF_EMT - Is a guy that recently reached out to us on Twitter for a job. We dont use Twitter as a sales tool, we use it as a branding tool.

2% of our business leads comes directly from Social Media.
What SM does is drive traffic to our site ( the showroom ) and leads call from there.

It's also a great tool to build a community of reference. Someone doesn't know anything about you, but they might know someone in common with you, or they can look at the interactions between you and your community and see how you manage.

Agreed. Plus Twitter is a cool way to get to know other business and PEOPLE. :clap:
