Trim on aluminum siding

I have some old windows to replace with vinyl ones and the siding is aluminum.

Where I'll be leaving the siding in place, I plan to cut the aluminum back beyond the new windows nailing flange and then adding trim to cover them.

I've been looking at all the options for exterior trim....

Miratec?....PVC composites? This insane OSB shlt!? Fiber cement? Primed and painted cedar?

Are any of these options more compatible with aluminum than others? Or anything you've used that just plain sucks?

The LP OSB stuff looks very questionable and I liked the pvc with built in J but the ones I saw were shiny and plastic looking.

I like where this is going.... Pictionary. For the head piece on the window trim, would you recommend a flat lip that goes up under the siding above or some kind of drip cap situation? And how should a sil cap be done? Do I need a drip edge or groove?

Either or. If I'm wrapping the window I usually bend the flange up, and tuck it under the house wrap. If I'm trimming in wood or PVC I just use drip cap.

If I'm wrapping a window that already has a drip cap I just tuck the wrap under the drip cap.
