I think it's overpriced but if the customer doesn't mind the price and likes the look then no problem.

If you're using a in-between-joist system then making your own out of EPDM seems like the best option both for cost and ability to choose what finish you want under the deck.

For under-joist systems I used the Certainteed product. It works, it's cheap and it installs pretty easy. These types of systems aren't great for decks where you have a lot of posts, beams, fans, etc. in the way. They aren't very adaptive when rerouting water.

 

I've done it... it's easy enough but doing your own with epdm is WAY better.

 

I've installed it. wasn't too bad. There was still room for can lights and speakers.

Thanks for all the info guys. With the epdm do you just get a big roll and let it hang down in each bay? Or do you cut individual pieces for each bay?

I cut for each bay but that's because we only use steel frames so it has to be glued so big sheets won't work.

 

When using a product like Trex rain escapes, is there s process for cutting in breaker boards with track saw?

Yes... Don't.

Actually just don't cut all the way through, set your depth shy and finish off carefully. Most of the time you can just snap the boards off, maybe a little help from a sharp utility knife.
