Do You Need a Trailer for Tool Storage?
While investing in a box trailer or other type of pull-behind storage isn't strictly necessary, contractors who work with a myriad of different tools, or those who work a large number of jobs, can benefit from the ease and convenience that pull-behind storage offers. http://www.contractortalk.com/articles/2015/04/do-you-need-a-trailer/
Recently we posted a new article about tool storage. Have you read it yet? What do you use for tool storage.

Share a picture if you have one!

I want to give some stuff away! At the end of one week (next Sunday) we will do a random drawing of the members participating in this thread for a swag package giveaway, including a Contractor Talk hat, tshsirt, and travel mug.

Ordered a 6x10 v-nose and should have it in a few weeks. Not packing nearly half the tools as most of you guys. I've just gotten tired of swapping my painting and papering stuff back and forth from my truck and shop. Takes close to 45 minutes to do it each way, bonus being I will have more room in my shop:thumbsup:

I get that every time these pics are posted. Tape measures are like socks...they disappear until you pull out the washer and dryer out from the wall or pull the drums. When I cleaned out my van I found like 8 tape measures. I am back down to 4 in the back. Time to clean it out again.

I picked up the cord reels at HD. Have to replace them after a few years of use. I need them nice and neat and daisy chaining just takes up too much room and I have the same problem, no one knows how they go back together. I just roll them up on starting with the receptacle end, easy for everyone to remember.

I have a 6x10 trailer. It is a little crammed, I want to upgrade to a 7x14. I have changed the layout since this pic was taken.

We wrapped up Friday at 5:30. All I did was unload all the tile stuff (we don't keep that on the trailer) and any other materials or special tools from the job. The guys have learned by now that stuff goes back in it's spot or my wife isn't happy about me spending an hour on Saturday cleaning up after them.

I still mess around in there most weekends and have a list of stuff that needs to happen in there for continuous improvement.

It's not much help to have a trailer that's not organized. That's the point of all this stuff IMO.

Everyone knows that if stuff is not back in "it's" spot I will loose my mind! Granted, the last job was a throw tools in, lock stuff down that could fall over, latch doors and go. Then spent about 30 minutes later that night at home putting stuff away after kids went to bed. I am ok with that, now if it was still a mess when I went to next job, that would just start things the wrong way and ruin the day. Yeah, I'm that OCD

Have to say I really force myself to put everything back properly at the end of every single day. I have the locations of everything in my 21' V Nose trailer down to a T. If I have to send someone to get something for me I can easily direct them straight there. It's a huge timesaver to be organized.

Take the time it takes so it takes less time.
