No I just couldn't remember the name of the tool that did it. Very seldom do I have a requirement to make a knockout that is exactly 1/2 or 3/4 inch so I couldn't remember what the name was for the tool.
Try Greenlee.

Thats what I was looking at, I am sure I have a 1/2" knockout laying around the shop. Like I said it's few and far between I have a need for them.
If you rarely need it just use your step bit.

It depends how many I have to drill I hate getting the hot steel burrs raining down on me.
you still need to drill the hole for the knock out stud. 1/2" minimum for most knock out kits and 3/4" if you need to jog the hole a little one way or another.

I like those carbide hole saw cutters if I had a choice. A plain hole saw or step bit work too.

Get a c-punch.
