I run a remodeling company with a partner. We primarly do finish work, but are qualified to do many other things. In our remodeling projects we also are insured to do roofs.

I was recently offered a job doing a metal roof for a previous client. We have only done shingled roofs for clients. I've laid metal roofs for family/friends, but feel this project may be over the boundry of professional.

I've been debating over three options;

1.) Sub out the work to another company and take a cut for dealing with the setup of job, client, and billing.

2.) Recommend another company and leave the project to someone else.

3.) Find out the main purpose of the re-roof. I believe its more for asthetics and therefore maybe able to paint/cleanup the roof. If it is this choice, does anyone have any recommendations?

My vote: If you're not sure of yourself on the re-roof, don't do it!! Sub it out and take your cut. Rich.

The fellas done shingles, he's just a little intimated by the medal. Medal's easy, I'd say do some research, find some help that's more familiar and if your still scared, run.:cheesygri
