Do you guys ever get tired of dealing with all the different personalities, employees, subs, retailers, wholesalers, sales people, customers etc...etc.....etc.... or is it just me?

I would say that 95% of the time I love my job and would not want to do anything else .... EVER.... but man, some days it just seems like I am a referee, or a councillor, or just the a$$hole boss. On days like this I just want to hang it all up and go to work for someone else and leave work at work.... let it be someone else's problem.

Then you get that big thank you from a customer or someone comments on a great job and everything is great again.

Just a rant guys thanks for the ear....

Cheers

Just part of the business bud.

The great part is when the women start crying over how much they love their new kitchens though. Seems to make it all worth it!

At that point, you are the hero but the journey is long.

It's why most of us do what we do.

Better living through chemistry, my friend. You can be like others and just take a pill that makes you happy.

or

Tough it out and realize you actually like what you're doing!

Occasionally I just need to beat the living shiitte out of something. Then the planets align for me all over again!

I owned a business for over 20 years-8 to 14 full timers and about 100 part timers.
Got so I dreaded the drama.I got kind of hard.

Finally sold it ,Now It's just me and a helper. Much better.
Mikey, you better fix that post (the I and hard part)

I think they should sell "Builder's Prozac" at the contractors desk at the lumber yard. Things would go smoother, I do believe.

Today I show up to install a whole house full of cabinets with 3 guys. Job is in San Francisco, about an hour and change from the shop. Not right around the corner.

Open the front door and there are 3 guys installing wood flooring on the entire kitchen level. WTF?

Coulda used some happy pills before I called the green behind the ears project manager. Man I was pissed.:furious:

He came by later and made nice. Offered me a boat load of work that another cabinet guy can't do for him. Seems he still likes me even though I made a full meal of his back side.:whistling

BAD GC. He was probably having coffee at Starbucks and didn't give a crap about the scheduling mess he created.

That's one of the main reasons I started "GC"ing projects myself. At least then, I know that the different trades will not be trampling over each other.

I know you must have incurred a monetary loss as a result of this GC's incopetence. It's hard to stomach. I know.
