What is the purpose of a wet wipe? I would avoid it unless for some reason you want to raise the grain between sandings. Cheese cloth would be my preferred wipe.

Get one of those pad sanders from Home Depot.

Don't use the drum. Use the Squarebuff. Go with the 36, or 50 grit to level it, because they make the coarsest dust that stays on the floor instead of in the air. Once you get it leveled, quick with the 80-120, and thats about it. You can make a baskeball court out of that sows ear, and probably very quickly.
